The economy and home sales in the Dallas-Fort Worth North Texas area continue at a record pace! Home sales through the end of April of this year are up 14% compared to the same time frame in 2015. The average sold price in the DFW for a single family home is up 5% over last year for the first 4 months. Driving the uptick in average home prices for the North Texas area is the low inventory of homes for sale. It’s a Seller’s Market. Many home buyers are frustrated by the challenge of finding a home because homes often get multiple offers the first day or two on the market. The good news for buyers is the interest rates remain historically low and the mortgage insurance has dropped some due to the low number of foreclosures.
